The Joint Innovation Centre is a coordination unit for implementing the policy of BAS – in the fields of innovation and patent activities, and project competence. The Centre provides information for applying on call in EU Structural Funds and the Framework Programme of EU “Horizon Europe”; supports the preparation and implementation of project proposals. The Centre maintains business contacts in the country and abroad concerning innovations and applied research transfer, and supports the establishment of contacts “science – business” and “science – science”.

COOPERATION

JiC collaborates with institutes and laboratories of BAS, with universities and with similar to JiC European units, as well as, with the Bulgarian Industrial Association, Sofia Tech Park, Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora, Business Support Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises – Ruse, Cluster Mechatronics and Automation, Marine Cluster Bulgaria, Southeast Digital Innovation Hub, regional innovation centres / hubs, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, and with NGOs with similar objectives. JiC is a partner in „Enterprise Europe Network” – the largest information consultancy network in Europe and worldwide, assisting business and science in the development of their innovation potential. One of the main activities of JiC in „Enterprise Europe Network” is the finding and promoting of scientific and technological research and its offering in a large transnational platform, as well as, support for establishing partnerships and collaborating in joint projects. JiC is a co-founder of the Technology Transfer Office PROINNO. JiC was established in 2005 as CI, restructured in 2010 and renamed to JiC.
